Commander Bob's Blob - April 09
Hi Rangers – it’s been a very cold snowy winter this year all over the United Kingdom, some more snowy than others. I remember as a child growing up in the 50s and we had constant snow falls which lasted for sometimes weeks on end, so every weekend I was out on my old sledge going down the slopes on a nearby golf course. As a child it seemed to last forever, although I am sure it didn’t. The worst winter around that time was 1963. It was long and very cold, but for me it was warm and eternal. Why? Because in the third week of that January, I trusted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, my heart was warm with his love and I was set on the eternal way to heaven.
So two very cold winters in my life; January 1947 when I was born (yes, even Commander Bob started life in the past annals of history) and January 1963, when I was born again. (John 3 v3 and 7). That’s 46 years ago and the warmth of God’s love still glows in my heart, as does the knowledge and assurance of eternal life (1John 5 v13). You are very important to God and very precious. God sent his son, Jesus, to pay the price for your’s and my sins, to set us free. This he did for all mankind, but if you had been the only one, he would have done it for you so much does he love you.
So, my fellow Ranger, is your heart warm with his love glowing inside and his goodness glowing outside of you? If not, ask Jesus to come into your heart today, trust him as I did 46 years ago (that’s even before some of your mums and dads were born).
He will never fail you.
See you soon,
Commander Bob |

"Royal Rangers is a very practical and spiritually based programme for young
people. It was a particular blessing to my own children in their growing
years. It is a programme worth looking at, especially, if you are looking for
outward bound adventure and good Christian values for the young."
