You may have got or you may have heard of the Easter Egg being sold in a number of large Super Stores that has a short Easter message, I believe it’s about the egg being a symbol of new life.

This is what Easter is all about but first of all one had to die and the only one who was sinless and good enough to take our sins in His own body, was Jesus, God’s only beloved Son. That is what the law demanded, a pure spotless lamb and Jesus is the Lamb of God (John 1 v 29). He died a cruel and awful death so that we, you and me, can be redeemed (brought back). Jesus paid the

price to buy us back so each one of us can know and love God the Father, made clean by the precious blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God (1 John 1 v 7). Although Jesus died, He was not in the cold tomb for long – 3 days Friday, Saturday, Sunday and on the Sunday morning as the sun came up from the East so did the Son of Righteousness rise from that stone cold tomb of death into the first Easter day, never to die again – not an illusion or a magic trick but really alive (Matt 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20 and 1 Cor. 15) and for us like the egg, when we trust the risen Lord Jesus, as our Saviour we can be born again (new birth, John 3 v 3 & 7). Like a new chick out of darkness into light, out of the prison of the shell into freedom and new life.
